The S.H.A.R.E.S. Program — Shop at Lucky, Help St. Theresa School

All of us have committed to supporting St. T throughout the year. As 2014 dawns, we want to point an easy way to earn money for our school...almost zero effort.

Just go shopping at Lucky's.

Lucky has a program called SHARES. They will donate up to 3% of your total grocery bill to St Theresa School.

(Some items are not included in the total - sales tax, alcohol discounts, senior discounts etc. See for the complete list).

This is all you have to do:

1. Ask me for a SHARES card if you don't already have one. We have pre-encoded ones at the school office.

2. Swipe your SHARES card BEFORE you pay at the checkout. (If you forget, it's too late for that transaction, so do this first!) Then you pay like you normally would - cash, check, gift card, credit or debit card, etc. Easy way to remember: keep the SHARES card in front of your credit card in your wallet.

3. SAVE YOUR RECEIPTS. Your receipt is the only way we know you participated. Lucky sends us checks quarterly--but they don't have a list of who used the card. If we don't know you spent X on groceries this month, we won't know how much to credit you for your SHARES purchases.

Here's an easy way to remember: Put an envelope in your car's glove compartment. Put your receipt there as soon as you're done shopping. After the last day of the month, send your LAST receipt (it has the grand total) to me/the Red Counter. Write your name and grade of oldest child on the receipt.

You will get credit toward your $200 Scrip commitment for the SHARES balance you accumulated that month.

That's it. Get the card. Swipe. Save receipt. Give to me. And you've earned money for St T.

You can give SHARES cards to anyone you want - your brothers & sisters, Grandma, your favorite aunt. They all can earn money for St T.

Get a card for them from me. They'll have the same process: Swipe before paying at the checkout, save receipts. Get their last receipt from them at the end of the month. Don't forget to write YOUR name on it, so their balance goes toward your $200 commitment.

It can't get any easier. If you spend $400 a month on groceries at Lucky, that's $4800 a year - $144 of which goes toward your commitment. If the grandparents do the same, that's $288 per year.

AND - if you buy Lucky gift cards ($25 and $100 denominations) through the website, you get a 2% rebate. You can use that as your payment method when you use your SHARES card. Now you've earned 2% on top of Lucky's "up to 3%" donation!

Please visit me at the Red Counter if you have questions.
